With great expectation, we gathered at our new property at the corner of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Country Road on Saturday morning, March 27, in a newly cleared section of land for this most anticipated event. Just 24 hours earlier, hundreds of rocks, brush and trees stood in this place — and we were unsure as to how we would welcome our members and stage this groundbreaking ceremony. God performed a miracle and BUILD, our contractor, was able to free up time, equipment and labor on Friday to clear an enormous space for our event. Saturday morning seemed even more joyous as we arrived and gathered at the site! Our time together included a prayer of thanksgiving, the unveiling of our new church logo and the groundbreaking ceremony performed by nine of our members from age 5 to 90. When the shovels performed the first dig, we lifted our voices amongst the trees with a beautiful rendition of The Doxology. Our event included with a hearty breakfast and time to fellowship as we thanked God for His kindness to our church and celebrated the future of this new place to worship and learn to know God deeper.
